Hong Kong-based hosting company PacHosting (www.pachosting.com) has added Microsoft's Hypervisor-based vitualization platform, Hyper-V, to its virtual private server service.
Announced Thursday, PacHosting is the latest company to adopt Hyper-V, that separates a physical server into multiple virtual machines that can run different applications and operating systems. In late June, Layered Tech (layeredtech.com) claimed the title of first hosting provider to launch Hyper-V, followed shortly by SoftLayer (softlayer.com) and MaximumASP (maximumasp.com)
Hyper-V beta launched in December 2007. A vital feature of Windows Server 2008, in March, Microsoft updated Hyper-V with a near-complete release.
Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, PacHosting began offering Windows Server 2008 in February. PacHosting's Hyper-V Windows 2008 VPS service provide a dynamic, reliable and scalable virtualization platform, provisioned on Dell PowerEdge Quad-Core Xeon servers. PacHosting's VPS includes Plesk Control Panel 8.4 for easy management.
The company's VPS service relies on a high speed and stable China and overseas connection to HKIX, China Telecom and China Netcom to provide hosted exchange service, web hosting, email hosting, VPS and dedicated server solutions. It launched BlackBerry hosting in June.
