Later today Microsoft will announce that Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 will be released within 30 days and be available via the Web for free!

This Hyper-V edition includes Windows Server 2008 Core Edition with only Hyper-V role enabled

Do I understand this correctly? Are Microsoft giving away Windows 2008 Core + Hyper-V (only enabled) absolutely free. Not a 60 day evaluation, or some other limitation conveniently forgotten to be mentioned.

If so WOW, I'll be grabbing some of that bandwidth :-)

Well it is not the same "core installation" as Windows 2008 has. It is less and only supports the Hyper-V role
